Every year Tlinigt, Haida and Tsimshian gather for Celebration, a three-day cultural festival put on by the Sealaska Heritage Institute. They come from Southeast Alaska, Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Git Hoan is a dance group based in Washington state.

The population of this small town in Southeast Alaska is made up mostly of the descendents of Norwegian homesteaders. During the third weekend in May residents celebrate Norwegian Constitution Day with a parade, Leikarring dancers, herring toss and Norwegian pastries.

I believe this is a fishing vessel used by NOAA in various surveys. There is a NOAA vessel of that name that was involved with the 2006 Eastern Bering Sea Crab and Groundfish Survey.
